The Martin Institute Master Class with John Hunter is an unparalleled experience for teachers to come together in an environment insulated from the demanding rhythms and routines of the day in order to interrogate their own teaching practices.
Montessori School of Denver, Monday, June 17 - Friday, June 21, 2013
Using John Hunter’s World Peace Game as an inspiring and challenging analogy, class participants are led by John Hunter and Jamie Baker of the Martin Institute through a series of reflective questions and activities that uncover the grounding assumptions of their teaching practice. This process renders new space and possibilities for different approaches in their teaching method and their learning design. Using new insights, class participants take the outcomes evident in John Hunter’s work and design toward them using their own age group students and subject area and interests.
In this five-day Martin Institute Master Class with John Hunter, teachers will have an opportunity to observe as John Hunter plays the World Peace Game with students. Students will begin the game from scratch on Monday at 8:30 am, playing each day until noon. The game will conclude by noon on Friday. Teachers in this class will gain specific and detailed knowledge of the World Peace Game and how it is facilitated in the classroom.
