MSD Receives National Recognition at 2012 Annual NAIS Conference!
Posted on March 7, 2012

On Thursday, March 1, MSD received amazing national recognition at the opening session of the 2012 National Association of Independent School’s (NAIS) Annual Conference! NAIS President, Pat Bassett, opened the conference for over 4,100 Heads of School, Administrators, teachers, Board Members, and other education consultant attendees with an inspiring talk about innovation, the conference theme. He talked about innovation in terms of imagining, inventing, inspiring, and dreaming of schools of the future. Right before Pat Bassett introduced Bill Gates, the keynote speaker, he recognized two schools that are leading the way in innovating and imagining bold ideas– MSD and Fay School in Southborough, MA. We were not expecting to hear our school name and see pictures of our Mosquito Net as well as Upper Elementary students flashed up on the big screen, but luckily had the presence of mind to start filming as soon as we could. We are very proud of our groundbreaking work we do everyday on campus, and of the attention we are getting nationally for it from our esteemed peers. Enjoy our MSD moment for yourself by watching this short clip!

We followed-up this recognition from Pat Bassett by giving two presentations of our own at the conference, one on the NAIS 20/20 Challenge that the MSD Mosquito Net came out of and also on our Doing Good Partnership with Freedom to Roam last year. It was an exciting, action packed conference for MSD!
