What does the Annual Fund support?
Gifts to the Annual Fund provide for professional development for our teachers, new technology in the classroom, and wherever it's needed most on campus. Your gifts to the Good Works Annual Fund are vital to continuing the work that we do at MSD. Every gift – no matter what the size – makes a difference in the lives of every student at our school.
Why is it important that I support the Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund is vital to the sustainability of our school. Since the Annual Fund supports professional development for our teachers, new technology in the classroom and where it's needed most, we ask everyone in our community to make a gift.
Why is it important to reach 100% parent participation in the Annual Fund?
When we are able to report to foundations, corporations and other funding sources that 100% of our parents support what we do at MSD, we increase our chances of winning grants to help our school.
How much should I give to the Annual Fund?
We welcome parents, grandparents, alumni, Trustees and special friends to make a gift to the Annual Fund that is meaningful to them. At MSD, we believe that a donation of any size is valuable. What you give will be added to the gifts of others and, together, we’ll continue to offer excellence throughout every facet of our school.

What is the difference between the Annual Fund and a Capital Campaign?
Our Annual Fund supports the cost of professional development for our teachers, new technology in the classroom and wherever it's needed most on campus. The Annual Fund occurs each year and runs from the beginning of our fiscal year on July 1st until the end of our fiscal year on June 30. Your gift is fully tax deductible to the extent of the law.
A capital campaign, on the other hand, strictly funds facilities’ improvements or “bricks and mortar” that are vital to the long-term sustainability of our school. Capital campaigns are periodic fundraising opportunities that are tied to the needs of the school so they are not available each and every year.
Do we have an endowment?
The Tracy Collins Schwartz Endowment (TCSE) Fund was established in memory of Tracy Collins Schwartz. Tracy was the President of the Montessori School of Denver Parent Association for the 2007-2008 school year. The mother of three MSD students, Tracy worked tirelessly on behalf of the school. Although Tracy’s unexpected passing left a void in our hearts, Tracy’s work and spirit live on.
The purpose and use of the Endowment Fund is to remember Tracy each year by creating an extraordinary experience for the students at MSD.
